Lithuania is moving towards restricting the sale of alcohol-free beer, wine and other non-alcoholic drinks associated with alcoholic beverage categories to people under 18, as part of its wider policy to prevent the normalisation of alcohol use among minors.

Lithuania is strengthening its response to FASD through the international FASD-Bridge project, while the Lithuanian organisation FASD platforma has joined the European FASD Alliance, expanding both clinical and civil-society cooperation.

Lithuania’s drug control authority is asking businesses to watch for suspicious chemical orders that could indicate diversion into illegal drug production.

NordAN’s Open Day in Copenhagen brought together Nordic and Baltic partners to discuss alcohol age limits, youth drinking and local policy action. Presentations from NordAN, WHO Europe, Blue Cross Denmark, Alkohol & Samfund, the Danish Cancer Society, NTAKK and WHO highlighted both the political contest around age limits and the evidence supporting stronger alcohol policy.
